It's the Journey that's Important

When you reach you goal, it will make you very happy. Then, it'll create a state of confusion because then you won't have anything more to chase after. You'll relax for a while and as you most deservingly should, but then after a while, you will set yourself new and even higher goals, and that'll be terrific.

But when you do that, you'll 'll most certainly look back and realize: it's the journey to your goal that's important; that getting up one hour early every day, writing things down again and again to stay on course, that pain and rejection, all of that was really the fun part. Know deep in your heart that you are going to acheive your goal. It is a sure thing. If you are doing all the things you need to, every day, then there is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- that can stop you from achieving your goal. So, banish all fear and anxiety. This part, the part you are now in, the pain and rejection and doubt and re-affirmation, is the real fun part.

It's always the journey that makes the goal worthwhile. Bless yourself that you're on the path, for there are many who are simply walking towards death with their eyes closed.

Life, sometimes so wearying
Is worth its weight in gold
The experience of traveling
Lends a wisdom that is old
Beyond our 'living memory'
A softly spoken prayer:
"It's the journey that's important,
Not the getting there!"

Ins and outs and ups and downs
Life's road meanders aimlessly?
Or so it seems, but somehow
Leads us where we need to be,
And being simply human
We oft question and compare....
"Is the journey so important
Or the getting there?"

And thus it's always been
That question pondered down the ages
By simple men with simple ways
To wise and ancient sages....
How sweet then, quietly knowing
Reaching destination fair:
"It's the journey that's important,
Not the getting there!"
